Sono alcuni giorni che mi domando sempre la stessa cosa: quanti sedentari ci sono nel nostro paese?
Ma, sopratutto, come rendo l’idea visibile agli occhi di chi, dovrebbe lavorare con questa categoria di persone?
Siccome credo che bisogna semplificare il tutto per renderlo fruibile a chiunque, ho immaginato con una grafica come vorrei fosse presentato a me un simile tema.
Ho preso i dati e le percentuali e le ho rese semplici, al fine di chiarire visivamente questo concetto!
Ecco quello che ho scoperto e riportato per tutti!!
Di seguito alcuni dati ISTAT:
- Sportivi: sono il 25,1% nel 2017 e svolgono attività fisica in modo continuativo.
- Attivi fisicamente: costituiscono il 34,8% della popolazione dove il 9,7% fa sport in modo saltuario mentre il 25,7% fa qualche attività fisica random.
- Sedentari: sono ancora il 39,2% del totale in Italia, non praticano alcuno sport nè fanno attività fisica.
La sedentarietà è un fattore di rischio importante che molto spesso viene trascurato. L’assenza di attività fisica, oltre a favorire un aumento del peso corporeo, impedisce all’apparato cardiocircolatorio di mantenersi in salute ed efficienza.
I fattori di rischio elencati sopra sono indipendenti: ciò significa che ogni fattore è di per sé decisivo nell’aumentare il rischio cardiovascolare, indipendentemente dalla presenza o meno di altri fattori correlati.
Potrebbe sembrare un dettaglio insignificante, ma non è così. Si pensi ad esempio all’obesità: di solito è associata a ipertensione, colesterolo alto, diabete di tipo 2. Tutti fattori di rischio cardiovascolare indipendenti che si vanno a sommare al fattore “obesità”.
Il lato positivo è che, intervenendo in modo intelligente, è possibile eliminare o attenuare più fattori di rischio in un solo tempo. Si noti in questo senso la potenza dell’esercizio fisico:
- contribuisce a ridurre il peso corporeo;
- aiuta a mantenere la pressione arteriosa bassa;
- abbassa il colesterolo cattivo e alza quello buono;
- contribuisce a evitare l’insorgere del diabete di tipo 2;
- elimina, ovviamente, il fattore di rischio “sedentarietà”.
Con un “piccolo” cambiamento allo stile di vita è possibile eliminare ben cinque fattori di rischio dalla propria vita!
